The Handy Heist: Case Closed. (And We Took Down a $4 Million Crime Ring Along the Way.)

Back in February, we shared the largest sex toy heist of 2026. Jimmy Kimmel covered it, the internet had a field day, and we promised we weren't going to let it go. And we took down a $4 million crime ring along the way.

The plot has officially thickened on The Handy heist.

Back in February, we shared that 619 of our Handy 2 and Handy 2 Pro devices had vanished somewhere between Los Angeles and Dallas, pulled off a freight train in what we proudly dubbed the largest sex toy heist of 2026. Jimmy Kimmel covered it, the internet had a field day, and we promised we weren’t going to let it go.

We meant it.

Rather than writing it off as a loss, our team got to work. We activated our community on Reddit and Discord, put on our detective hats, and started conducting undercover buy-backs on third-party marketplaces, tracing our devices one by one. The trail eventually led us somewhere unexpected —

A used car lot in Bell, California.

We handed that information over to the LAPD’s Cargo Theft Task Force and things only escalated from there.

When officers raided the location, they didn’t just find our Handys. They found a mountain of pallets, including products from Nike, DeWalt, Acer, and a dozen other global brands, representing over $4 million in stolen merchandise.

As our CEO JP Wilhelmsen put it: “What started as our company seeking justice for our stolen shipment actually pulled the thread on a legitimate organized crime network. We are proud that our loyal community, our brand’s proactive stance and technical capabilities provided the breakthrough the LAPD needed.”

To everyone in our community who kept their eyes open, shared tips, and helped us chase this down — thank you. You didn’t just help us recover product; you helped take a real crime ring off the streets.

And to anyone who thought stealing from The Handy was a victimless crime: well, we hope the used car lot was worth it
